REDISTRICTING PLAN FOR OKAPA DISTRICT(LLG) OF E.H.P IN PNG.

SPOT ON. ON THE POINT OF CREATING NEW LLG, LET’S RECAP THE REQUIREMENTS OF SPLITTING EXISTING DISTRICT (REDISTRICTING OKAPA LLG)

Okapa District is one of the vastly populated soil with huge landmass and 7 widely spoken native dialects Include English, a  district situated SW of Eastern Highlands Province in Papua New Guinea.

*capital: Okapa. *Coordinates: 6°31′S 145°37′E

*Land Area: 2,110 km² (810 sq mi)

*Population: 180,000+ people

Sometime now the proposals were made and is due but didn’t mention or tabled in parliament as yet. Other rural districts of PNG like Rabaul, Goilala,Talasea,Kandrian,ManusBay,Anglimp South Waghi,North Waghi,Jiwaka,Jimi,Obura Waninara,& others were reported and documented which may take time to aventuate in the long run.

Since it will take high administrative costs there are important factors to review.

CUTTING BOUNDARIES MAY DEPEND ON SOME VITAL FACTORS CONSIDERING;

1: Demographic Population Size
2: Geographic Location & Land Mass.
3: Natural Resources
4: Typical pop ranges between 40,000 _ 60,000 persons.
5: Accurate Feasibility Study&Documented Sources.

6: Languages Spoken

And others. But this is all what I see basically important!

These legal offices/Authorities to approve are as follows ;

1: Electoral Boundaries Commission.
2: National Census Population& Housing Census +
3: National Statistics Office(NSO).
4: Constitutional Law Reform Commission.(CLRC)
5: National Legislative/Executive Council.

*Robert Atiyafa, chairman of CLRC once mentioned Okapa has 180,000 people with huge land mass, while reviewing creation of a new province in E.H.P .

YES NOW WE’RE ON THE RIGHT TRACK!

We’ve met the requirements already. Feasibility Study reports is the thing MP can assess for now and make thorough examinations before tabling on the floor of parliament.

And here I personally make an open call to those individuals who did great work independently with feasibility studies can come forward and submit their findings at OKAPA MP’S office so that MP in APPRECIATION can budget and perform tasks as needed.

I understand that it’s an expensive exercise but someone has done good job well done! In doing so MP has to compensate labour and cost.

Yeah that’s all we can do to finalize things in place already!

There we can proceed to parliament then present copies of proposal to legal offices as mentioned above…

It all lies back to commitment, effort and cooperation of every individual elite,group or organization and LLG existing in OKAPA DISTRICT to go about this great mission of ours.
